We are currently seeking a dynamic leader with robust experience in communication and social media management to join our Board as the Director of Communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective internal and external communication strategies.
  • Manage the organization's brand and reputation.
  • Oversee the creation of public relations and marketing materials.
  • Write speeches for organizational leaders and prepare them for interviews and other public speaking engagements.
  • Enhance our social media presence and effectiveness.

We are currently seeking a dynamic leader with robust experience in organizational operations and warehouse management. We are moving to a new location in August 2024 and will need support to establish new practices in a smaller space than our current warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Volunteer and Operations Manager with the following:

  • Improve our current warehouse operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock control.
  • Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order assembly, and dispatch of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of warehouse cleanliness.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other team members to integrate logistics with business systems or processes.
  • Continually assess and identify areas for operational improvement.
  • Chair the board level operations committee.

General information and requirements

In fulfillment of fiduciary responsibilities, the volunteer Board is expected to establish policies, to make significant and strategic decisions, and to oversee the organization's activity.

The Term of Board Members is 2 years. Members attend 9-12 board meetings/year and give between 5-10 hours/mo. They are expected to read board materials in advance of meetings and come prepared to participate. Board members are also expected to engage in one or more committees, and encouraged to participate in a volunteer event each year.

The ideal candidate would have non-profit board member experience (or received formal board training) as well as a track-record of supporting charitable causes, passion for the mission, and leadership skills to help support Board discussions.
